Included will be some exercises for developing it as a skill through group involvement. Fur Textures In Photoshop FireStormSix Saturday 11am–12noon, Constitution A Learn the basics of rendering fur and hair texture to art with Adobe Photoshop using a basic and simple technique. Discussion and demonstrations will include optimizing your computer for the texture process, settings for Photoshop 6 and 7, tools used for texture rendering, fur styles, shadows, and highlighting the texture using the Dodge and Burn tools, a step-by-step demonstration of adding fur to a single layer colored character, and a demonstration of the technique with both a two-button mouse and a graphics pen tablet. Making a Monster! (Macro) Kagemushi, Bennie, SusanDeer, Ken Sample, Gideon Sunday 10:30–11:30am, Constitution A This panel, led by Kagemushi and joined by Bennie, SusanDeer, Ken Sample, and Gideon, is all about how to create the illusion of size in art and prose. There are many ways to portray a creature of excessive size, but not that many ways to do it well! Our panel of well-known artists and writers will give pointers for creating macro-scale beasts so realistic they will jump right off the page. Mini and Model Painting iCheetah Saturday 2–3pm, Gettysburg 2 This class will cover preparing, priming and painting of resin and metal miniatures, with attention paid to techniqes for customizing figures, and various painting techniques including washes and drybrushing.  Anthropomorphic models and minis will of course be featured. Suggested materials are: any mininature or model you’d like to get started on; brush-on primer; acrylic paints; water-based colored inks; brushes for basecoats, details and drybrushing; emery board, nailfiles or jewlers files; X-acto knife, or small scissors.
